BESS for C&I Blogs

Indonesia | 2 MWp Solar + 1.8 MVA Battery

Project Overview

SuryaLogix implemented an EMS for an Indonesian C&I hybrid power project combining Solar PV, BESS, Grid, and DG. The system synchronizes these sources, prioritizes power flow, and maintains reliable supply according to real-time load demand.

SuryaLogix BESS Energy Management System

Project Aim

The primary aim of the project was to synchronize and prioritize multiple energy sources based on the real-time load requirement.

The EMS was required to intelligently coordinate solar generation, battery charging and discharging, grid availability, and DG operation while maintaining stable and efficient power supply to the connected load.

SuryaLogix EMS Solution

The SuryaLogix Energy Management System for BESS was implemented to provide centralized monitoring, synchronization, and control of all available energy sources.

The EMS helps determine how much power should be supplied by each available source according to solar generation, load demand, battery conditions, and availability of the Grid or DG.

Key Features of the SuryaLogix EMS Solution

  • Real-time monitoring of Solar, Grid, BESS, DG and Load
  • Intelligent source synchronization
  • Source prioritization according to load requirement
  • Battery charging and discharging control
  • Solar generation utilization and coordination
  • Grid import and export management
  • DG and solar coordination
  • Solar inverter power control

Site Working Principle

The SuryaLogix EMS continuously monitors power generation and consumption and determines the appropriate source combination according to site conditions.

  • Battery is charged when solar generation exceeds the load demand.
  • Grid can support the load when solar generation is insufficient.
  • Supports grid export control during surplus solar generation.
  • Controls solar inverter output when generation exceeds the required load.
  • SuryaLogix BESS Energy Management System (EMS) coordinates all energy sources in real time.
  • Provides local and remote monitoring of the complete system.
  • Enables stable, flexible and optimized power management based on site operating conditions.

Achievement

With the implementation of the SuryaLogix BESS Energy Management System, the project achieved centralized coordination of Solar, BESS, Grid, and DG sources within one energy management platform. The system enabled the site to operate under different source combinations while automatically managing source contribution according to generation availability and load demand.  The solution also enabled effective use of available solar energy, controlled battery charging and discharging, coordinated DG operation, and management of Grid import/export conditions.
